Kojima Warns AI Upscaling Could Harm Future Game Remasters [2026 Update]

Kojima’s statement may temper enthusiasm for AI‑enhanced cosmetic bundles, which have driven secondary market activity on platforms like 217G. Current verified listings for high‑rank IDs and rare skins sit between PKR 20,000 and 100,000 (AED 300‑1,500). A slowdown in demand could depress these valuations, affecting both sellers and collectors. Sponsorships tied to visual‑centric campaigns might be re‑evaluated, as brands seek assurance that featured assets retain authentic appeal. Broadcast viewership could also feel a ripple effect; streams showcasing AI‑enhanced graphics have attracted higher retention rates, so any pullback may modestly reduce average watch times. Overall, the market may see a short‑term correction before stabilizing around a balanced use of AI tools.
