Jiaohun Horror Reveal: PS5 Steam Launch Set [Confirmed]

Developer 12AM Blackout officially unveiled Jiaohun during IGN Fall Fan Fest 2026, confirming that the first-person psychological horror title will launch on PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam in 2027 set within a demon-infested 1999 Chinese town. According to verified reports from IGN Articles, Jiaohun transports players to Fairy Town in Baishoi County, immersing them in unsettling Chinese folklore, surreal manifestations, and psychological isolation. Players investigate decaying rural environments where masked figures, disjointed limbs with eyes, and a nameless deity haunt abandoned corridors. A core distinguishing mechanic involves the tactical use of 1990s-era telecommunication pagers, allowing players to receive cryptic transmissions and decode complex occult environmental puzzles to survive. The reveal stood out alongside major gaming headlines like the [Zelda Ocarina of Time Remake: Early Gameplay Preview [Confirmed]](/news/zelda-ocarina-time-remake-gameplay-preview), demonstrating how retro aesthetic shifts are dominating modern showcase streams. With Steam wishlists officially open, 12AM Blackout aims to deliver a tense, slow-burn exploration loop that challenges traditional jump-scare conventions through atmospheric dread and period-accurate storytelling.
