IND vs NZ 2026: Kaif on Shami Test Squad Omission [Analysis]

India excluded veteran fast bowler Mohammad Shami from the upcoming two-match Test series against New Zealand in 2026, prompting former national batter Mohammad Kaif to declare that Kiwi top-order batters will breathe a collective sigh of relief ahead of the tour. According to verified reports from Sportskeeda Esports & BGMI, the national selection panel opted to manage the seasoned pacer's workload following protracted rehabilitation schedules, altering India's frontline pace attack for the series. Kaif highlighted that Shami's seam position, upright release, and relentless off-stump probing consistently terrorized New Zealand batting lineups across overseas and subcontinent conditions.
