Happy Death Day 3: Jessica Rothe Confirms Return [Confirmed]

Jessica Rothe has officially confirmed that Happy Death Day 3 is actively being prepared with franchise director Christopher Landon, validating persistent fan speculation regarding the completion of the cult-favorite Blumhouse time-loop slasher trilogy following discussions held at New York Comic Con. According to verified reports from Polygon, Rothe addressed her status as a modern horror icon while confirming that creative blueprints for Tree Gelbman's third outing remain a high priority for both herself and Landon. The original 2017 hit and its 2019 sequel, Happy Death Day 2U, blended dark slasher tropes with sci-fi comedic loops, carving out a dedicated audience that bridges mainstream filmgoers and gaming enthusiasts fond of repetitive puzzle-death mechanics. Similar to how [Hellraiser: Revival Earns Clive Barker Praise [Confirmed]](/news/hellraiser-revival-clive-barker-praise-update) sparked multimedia horror resurgence, Landon's completed conceptual outline waits primarily on studio distribution greenlights. Rothe emphasized that the creative team refuses to rush the production, insisting that the third chapter will only enter principal photography once scheduling windows and budgetary allocations align perfectly. Industry insiders view the confirmation as a pivotal milestone for Blumhouse, which continues targeting high-yield, cross-platform genre franchises capable of expanding into interactive video game adaptations and licensing integrations.
