GTA 5 PS Plus Removal Confirmed Ahead of GTA 6 [Update 2026]

Grand Theft Auto 5 is reportedly being removed from PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium subscription tiers on November 17, just two days before the monumental November 19 launch of Grand Theft Auto 6. According to verified reports from GameSpot News, player notifications on Reddit indicate that Sony and Rockstar are actively orchestrating a seamless migration pipeline toward Vice City's next-generation experience featuring protagonists Jason and Lucia. The official notification directs subscribers straight to the upcoming sequel's preorder page, emphasizing that now is the optimal moment to experience or revisit Franklin, Michael, and Trevor's gripping criminal saga. While Grand Theft Auto 5 has historically rotated through subscription services like Xbox Game Pass, its permanent or temporary exit from PlayStation Plus right before the franchise's biggest milestone underscores an aggressive publisher strategy. Industry analysts note this direct funneling tactic aims to maximize initial launch momentum, capturing millions of active gamers currently engaging with Los Santos online and offline modes.
