God of War Series: Olivier Richters Eyes Tyr Role [Confirmed]

Olivier Richters, the seven-foot-two Dutch actor starring as Zangief in Street Fighter, announced on the red carpet that he is actively campaigning to play the Norse God of War Tyr in Prime Video’s live-action God of War television adaptation. According to verified reports from IGN Articles, Richters disclosed that he originally advanced deep into the casting process for the leading role of Kratos, securing two callbacks with show executives before Dave Bautista secured the role. The recasting of Kratos arose after Ryan Hurst suffered a severe bicep tear during stunt rehearsals, forcing showrunners to pivot. Standing over seven feet tall and weighing 350 pounds, Richters noted that his towering physical frame makes him a flawless fit for Tyr, the colossal Norse deity central to Santa Monica Studio's 2022 game Ragnarök. Much like how television adaptations expand gaming lore alongside releases like [Fallout 5 Setting: Season 3 Teases Colorado Wasteland [Confirmed]](/news/fallout-5-setting-season-3-leak), Amazon's production seeks physical realism. Richters expressed immense respect for Bautista while noting that bringing Tyr to life would allow him to embody an iconic gaming character without relying heavily on CGI trickery.
