Ghostwire Tokyo Joins GOG Preservation Program [Confirmed]

According to verified reports published by PC Gamer in October 2026, Tango Gameworks' supernatural action-adventure title Ghostwire: Tokyo has officially joined the GOG Preservation Program, permanently eliminating obligatory Bethesda.NET launcher requirements and securing future operating system compatibility. Originally launched in 2022 to critical acclaim and moderate commercial success, the neon-drenched Tokyo-set adventure previously shed its Denuvo digital rights management shackles. However, the integration with GOG represents a massive victory for digital game ownership preservation. The initiative guarantees that even as decades pass and modern operating systems evolve beyond recognition, dedicated patches and stability fixes will keep the title fully playable for future generations of gamers. Furthermore, this transition arrives at a pivotal moment for developer Tango Gameworks, which recently navigated a turbulent near-closure orchestrated by Microsoft before being successfully acquired by PUBG Corp parent company Krafton. Industry analysts view this partnership as a masterclass in consumer advocacy, setting a high benchmark for publisher accountability in digital distribution. Players purchasing the title through GOG will no longer encounter intrusive third-party background applications, streamlining the user experience significantly while ensuring that bonuses delivered during initial launches remain intact and accessible without account authentication hurdles. This move strengthens the broader movement toward decentralized game preservation across global storefronts.
