Gaming Industry: Sunil Gavaskar Defends 2026 Roster [Confirmed]

Indian cricket legend Sunil Gavaskar fiercely defended national selectors on October 25, 2026, during the ongoing New Zealand versus India T20I series, dismissing social media backlash as manufactured outrage orchestrated by keyboard PR campaigns targeting selection panel leadership.

According to verified reports from Sportskeeda Esports & BGMI, Gavaskar specifically highlighted the inclusions of veteran bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar and emerging all-rounder Naman Dhir as evidence that team management values contextual tactical roles above superficial statistical averages. Gavaskar labeled critics the 'whipping boys of the keyboard PR army,' emphasizing that national rosters require complementary mechanical chemistry rather than aggregated fan sentiment. This dynamic parallels community scrutiny seen in competitive gaming ecosystems, such as recent community debates surrounding [Call of Duty Modern Warfare 4: Korean Backlash [Confirmed]](/news/call-of-duty-modern-warfare-4-korean-backlash).

By selecting situational specialists who balance team temperament, selectors aim to stabilize on-field performance during foreign tour environments. Sportskeeda Esports & BGMI confirmed that Gavaskar urged audiences to evaluate squad balance holistically rather than falling prey to curated online narratives designed to undermine managerial authority during major tournament preparations.
