Game of Thrones The Mad King: 2027 Stage Return [Confirmed]

The Royal Shakespeare Company has officially announced that Game of Thrones: The Mad King will make its high-profile theatrical return in 2027, reviving George R.R. Martin’s explosive prequel narrative surrounding the fall of House Targaryen after concluding a critically acclaimed, sold-out run in Stratford-upon-Avon. According to verified reports from Polygon, theater producers confirmed that while the initial limited staging closed in September, plans are locked to bring Aerys II Targaryen's tragic descent back to major international stages. Adapted directly from Martin’s historical lore, the production chronicles the Tourney at Harrenhal and the spark of Robert’s Rebellion, filling crucial canon gaps long debated by fantasy enthusiasts and narrative game designers alike.
