The Story
Chinese esports powerhouse FunPlus Phoenix has officially completed its active roster by signing Lithuanian Duelist Richard '77even' Venskevychius ahead of the pivotal VCT China Threshold tournament, where two coveted regional Ascension invite slots will be decided. According to verified match tracking and roster records from VLR.gg, 77even joins existing core members Zhang 'AAAAY' Yang, Colin Patrick 'coconut' Chung, Zhao 'Xlele' Yanbo, and Ou 'Setrod' Taigeng in Shanghai. The European standout brings extensive competitive mileage to FPX after playing across seven different tier-two teams throughout 2026, including notable campaigns with Pixel Lumina, Twisted Saints Esports, and Formulation Gaming in Challengers EMEA. This transatlantic roster overhaul mirrors similar cross-regional rebuilds seen across the globe, much like recent structural changes documented in the [Valorant FURIA Roster: Shyy, Basic, and Artzin [Roster Lock]](/news/furia-valorant-roster-free-agency) transition. By integrating 77even's high-tempo Duelist mechanics into coach-led defensive systems, FPX aims to halt recent domestic slides and secure direct promotion back into primary international tier-one contention.
