Forza Horizon Dethroned: Sim Driving Surges [Confirmed]

Forza Horizon has officially lost its crown as gaming's quintessential digital road-trip simulator to meticulously scaled titles like American Truck Simulator, as automotive enthusiasts increasingly favor realistic long-haul highway geometry and authentic cabin physics over frictionless arcade speedways in 2026. According to verified reports from Polygon, veteran driving enthusiasts who once cataloged scenic routes across Playground Games' franchise now find the series lacking true transit immersion. While Horizon dazzles visually, its hyper-compressed environments, destructible stone walls, and indestructible supercars strip open-world touring of genuine travel gravity. In contrast, SCS Software's American Truck Simulator delivers actual contemplative journeys across vast interstates, demanding authentic fuel management, adherence to speed limits, and deliberate navigation.
