Fortnite iOS Return Australia: Epic Wins Court Case [Confirmed]

According to verified reports from TalkEsport, Fortnite is officially returning to the iOS App Store across Australia on October 22, 2026, following a monumental Federal Court antitrust victory delivered by Justice Jonathan Beach against tech giant Apple. Justice Beach ruled definitively that Apple's strict, monopolistic control over app distribution channels and proprietary payment gateways severely breached Australian competition law. Epic Games immediately announced the triumphant return via official social channels on X, confirming that local mobile gamers can finally bypass cumbersome third-party web workarounds and download the native client directly from standard device storefronts. While Apple prepares an aggressive legal appeal, the court's decisive mandate requires the Cupertino tech titan to fully open iOS to competing third-party app marketplaces and alternative payment processors by March 1, 2027. This pivotal legal milestone alters mobile gaming ecosystems permanently, ending years of walled-garden restrictions that fractured competitive matchmaking pools and sidelined regional mobile esports leagues. Industry analysts note that similar international antitrust challenges could soon trigger cascading regulatory and legislative reforms across European and North American mobile storefronts, revitalizing competitive player bases worldwide.
