Drunken Goddess Reflux Steam Demo Canceled [Confirmed]

Alliance Arts officially canceled the public Steam demo for the highly anticipated anime psychological horror game Drunken Goddess Reflux on October 16, 2026, shifting to a closed beta format to protect its unique art style and mechanics from rampant AI plagiarism engines. According to verified reports from Kotaku journalist Ethan Gach, this sudden strategic pivot highlights growing developer anxiety across the global gaming industry regarding automated asset theft and rapid vibe-coded cloning tools. Garnering over 25,000 followers and securing the 65th spot on Valve's coveted top wishlisted games leaderboard, Drunken Goddess Reflux cleverly combines tense Buckshot Roulette gambling mechanics with a striking Doki Doki Literature Club psychological horror aesthetic. As artificial intelligence models and automated code generators flood digital platforms like Steam and Roblox with instantaneous knock-offs, indie publishers are increasingly locking down public access to early playtests. Similar intellectual property security concerns have driven rigorous pre-release vetting across digital ecosystems, comparable to protective verification measures seen in projects like the [Shrek 2 Remaster Leak: 4K Co-Op Gameplay Revealed [Leak]](/news/shrek-2-remaster-xbox-leak). Ultimately, creators refuse to let months of delicate artistic labor be scraped into unauthorized cloning tools overnight.
