Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3: Soul Switching Feature [Preview]

Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 officially unveiled its groundbreaking Soul Switching mechanic during an exclusive co-op multiplayer preview at Bandai Namco headquarters in Tokyo, where developer Dimps showcased a major tactical overhaul designed to eliminate repetitive arena fighting tropes for modern competitive players. According to verified reports from IGN Articles, the hands-on showcase focused entirely on cooperative multiplayer raids, bypassing predictable single-button combo strings in favor of responsive, multi-character combat maneuvers.

The centerpiece innovation, Soul Switching, empowers players to swap into reserve iconic fighters instantly during challenging cooperative boss trials. Rather than relying on static 3D brawler formulas, Dimps prioritizes active squad coordination, allowing groups to cycle through customized Saiyan avatars and iconic canon rosters dynamically. Similar to recent high-impact combat evolutions highlighted in the [Stranger Than Heaven Preview [Confirmed]: RGG Studio Epic](/news/stranger-than-heaven-combat-review), Dimps seeks to break mechanical genre fatigue by blending RPG role distribution with fast-paced fighting fundamentals. Early hands-on testing confirms that boss engagements demand synchronized buff timing, positional staggering, and tactical swaps rather than unpunished button spamming.
