Cyberpunk Edgerunners 2: Hideo Kojima Cameo Confirmed [Update 2026]

According to verified reports from VGC, legendary video game auteur Hideo Kojima will officially reprise his role as high-profile braindance producer Hideyoshi Oshima in the upcoming Cyberpunk Edgerunners 2 anime series developed by Studio Trigger and CD Projekt Red. Kojima originally appeared as an ambient NPC cameo in Cyberpunk 2077 at the Konpeki Plaza bar during the prologue heist. His character, Oshima, led a research group in Tokyo seeking to capture pure emotional resonance inside braindance technology. Following the monumental global success of the initial Edgerunners run, CD Projekt Red confirmed another animated venture set within Mike Pondsmith's dystopia. Production partners Studio Trigger and Netflix aim to deepen the transmedia universe, embedding legendary industry figures directly into Night City's criminal and artistic underbelly. This crossover solidifies CD Projekt Red's commitment to canonizing iconic creators within its lore.
