Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.5: Edgerunners 2 Quest [Patch Notes]

CD Projekt Red has officially released Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.5 across modern platforms on October 21, 2026, delivering an exclusive Edgerunners Season 2 prequel quest alongside full console mod integration to bridge the narrative gap preceding Studio Trigger's upcoming anime premiere. According to verified reports from Kotaku, the surprise 2.5 patch integrates community-authored modifications directly into PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, and Xbox Series X/S through an official partnership with mod.io. Players can now browse, test, and install approved user creations straight from the main menu, though developers advise moderation to prevent save file corruption. The update also features fully voice-acted prequel missions linking directly with previous storylines, expanding upon earlier revelations in the [Cyberpunk 2077 Edgerunners 2 Update: Dual Wielding [Confirmed]](/news/cyberpunk-2077-edgerunners-2-update) coverage. Beyond new narrative encounters and a dedicated Edgerunners radio station playing tracks from both seasons, the patch injects substantial visual upgrades. Night City now benefits from Nvidia DLSS 4.5 architecture on PC, while console operators receive a long-requested field-of-view slider to eliminate tunnel vision in first-person gunplay. Additional quality-of-life enhancements include guided Night City bus tours and customized Apple Silicon performance optimizations for Mac users.
