Control Resonant Breaks Remedy Sales Record [Confirmed]

Remedy Entertainment confirmed in February 2026 that its supernatural action RPG Control Resonant officially crossed the one million copies sold threshold in less than one month on global storefronts, establishing it as the fastest-selling video game release in the studio's history. According to verified reports from Polygon, the milestone outpaces the initial commercial trajectories of both Alan Wake 2 and the original 2019 Control. Published across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, the title benefited from aggressive word-of-mouth regarding its mind-bending narrative design and dense environmental physics. Studio leadership noted that player engagement remained exceptionally sticky throughout early story chapters, defying broader market slowdowns. This unprecedented commercial momentum reflects a broader industry appetite for focused, prestige single-player experiences, echoing sentiments observed when the [Konami AI Game Strategy Rejects Market Shift Fears [Confirmed]](/news/konami-ai-game-development-stance) highlighted consumer demand for authored design over automated generation. Polygon reported that digital storefront revenue accounted for over 80 percent of total lifetime sales, propelled by strong Day-One regional adoption across European and North American gaming hubs. Remedy plans to support this surging player base with sustained post-launch performance optimizations.
