Cloud9 Eliminated at Worlds 2026 After 3-1 FURIA Loss [Confirmed]

North American third seed Cloud9 was eliminated from League of Legends Worlds 2026 on Friday, October 16, after suffering a crushing 3-1 lower-bracket Play-In defeat against Brazilian contenders FURIA, cementing NA's earliest international exit with a 19th-place finish. According to verified reports from Esports.net, Cloud9 captured the series opener in confident fashion before completely relinquishing tempo across the subsequent three matches. FURIA responded swiftly, seizing neutral objectives and punishing disjointed teamfights to deny North America any representation from this Play-In route into the Swiss Stage. The loss leaves Cloud9 dead last among 19 competing rosters, representing a devastating low watermark for LCS international ambitions. The outcome is particularly striking given FURIA's rocky tournament path, previously detailed when [MVK Esports Defeats FURIA in LoL Worlds Play-In [Confirmed]](/news/mvk-esports-furia-worlds-playin) earlier in the week. Despite securing first blood and early dragon control in Game 1, Cloud9 could not adapt their drafts once FURIA banned away comfort jungle champions and locked down bot-lane hyper-carries. The Brazilian squad closed out maps two through four methodically, never allowing Cloud9 the chance to push the series to a decisive fifth game.
