Resident Evil 7 Short Film by Chandler Riggs [Confirmed]

According to verified reports from PC Gamer, The Walking Dead star Chandler Riggs has officially directed and starred in a gripping twenty-minute Resident Evil 7 live-action short film adapting the iconic protagonist garage battle against Jack Baker. Set within the claustrophobic confines of the Baker family bayou estate in Dulvey, Louisiana, the fan-made adaptation tackles one of Capcom's most intense survival sequences. Riggs acknowledged in interviews that tackling such a beloved franchise brings immense pressure, noting that it is impossible to please every purist in the horror community. Unlike cinematic thrillers such as [Whalefall Movie Review: Austin Abrams Survival Thriller [Confirmed]](/news/whalefall-movie-review-confirmed), video game adaptations face the unique hurdle of translating first-person mechanics into live-action cinema. In Resident Evil 7 and Village, Capcom deliberately kept protagonist Ethan Winters' face obscured in shadow or first-person perspective to enhance player immersion. Riggs made the bold creative choice to break this established convention by fully revealing Ethan's face during the ferocious hand-to-hand combat against the infected patriarch. While purists have debated the creative liberty, the project showcases exceptional production value, practical effects, and faithful recreation of the game's tense atmosphere. Industry analysts note that high-profile fan endeavors of this caliber significantly elevate mainstream discourse surrounding Capcom's survival horror crown jewels, fueling sustained interest across digital streaming platforms and community forums.
