Black & White Remaster Teased by Peter Molyneux [Leak]

Veteran video game creator Peter Molyneux has revealed that while a full Black & White 3 sequel remains completely off the table, an official remaster of the iconic 2001 god simulator is actively being prepared for modern gaming audiences. According to verified reports from Rock Paper Shotgun, Molyneux dropped the unexpected reveal during discussions surrounding his upcoming indie release, Masters of Albion. The Lionhead Studios co-founder acknowledged that complex intellectual property rights shared with Electronic Arts historically stalled the beloved strategy franchise, yet strongly hinted that modern licensing breakthroughs have enabled restoration efforts for the original masterpiece. While Molyneux definitively shut down speculation regarding a brand-new third entry due to astronomical development costs, he indicated that contemporary players would soon experience the original title's pioneering morality systems and creature hand-raising mechanics on updated platforms. The revelation comes as studio teams explore how foundational simulation designs like [Inscryption Horror Legacy: Why Sacrifices Rule [Update 2026]](/news/inscryption-blood-sacrifice-mechanic-legacy-2026) trace their philosophical depth back to Lionhead's early experimental titles. Industry insiders monitor potential publishing arrangements, anticipating definitive showcase announcements later this year.
