BioWare Studio Closure: EA Cancels Mass Effect [Confirmed]

According to verified reports published by Game Informer and Bloomberg in October 2026, Electronic Arts has officially announced the complete shutdown of legendary role-playing game studio BioWare alongside four hundred sweeping corporate employee layoffs across global operations. Leadership stated they took a hard look at business metrics, resulting in the cancellation of early development on the next major installment in the franchise. This abrupt closure terminates a storied studio history that previously defined immersive storytelling.
