Big Walk Skips Xbox Release Due to BDS Boycott [Confirmed]

Australian indie developer House House has officially confirmed that its highly anticipated cooperative multiplayer adventure Big Walk is skipping Xbox consoles entirely, citing the studio's active support for the Palestinian-led Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) human rights movement. According to verified reports from Polygon, the Melbourne-based studio behind Untitled Goose Game clarified its distribution strategy during recent community discussions, explaining that political advocacy guided its choice to bypass Microsoft's console hardware. While Microsoft operates tech centers and research facilities tied to Israeli contracts targeted by BDS guidelines, House House chose an ethical stance over platform ubiquity. The studio emphasized that Big Walk will instead prioritize releases on PC via Steam and PlayStation hardware. This unprecedented indie stance mirrors broader creative autonomy debates across the industry, similar to narrative-driven developments seen in the [Red Rooster RPG: Disco Elysium Devs Reveal New Title [Confirmed]](/news/red-rooster-disco-elysium-splinter-rpg). By deliberately excluding the Xbox ecosystem, House House forfeits lucrative Xbox Game Pass distribution contracts and substantial upfront funding, opting to retain creative independence and ethical consistency across their cooperative walking-simulator release schedule.
