Bhuvneshwar Kumar Bowls in India Nets Ahead of NZ T20I [Watch]

Veteran Indian swing specialist Bhuvneshwar Kumar marked his dramatic international return by bowling extensive spells during Team India practice nets ahead of the five-match NZ vs IND 2026 T20I series under the watchful eyes of head coach Gautam Gambhir and bowling mentor Morne Morkel. According to verified reports from Sportskeeda Esports & BGMI, Kumar earned his call-up to the 16-member national squad following a four-year absence from the international stage, having last represented the Men in Blue back in late 2022. During intensive net sessions in Mohali, the 36-year-old seam maestro showcased trademark late outswing and pinpoint yorkers under direct observation from Gambhir and Morkel, who analyzed his release points and seam orientation across multiple overs. India's bowling management is assessing pace reserves to complement explosive left-arm spin breakthroughs highlighted during the [R Sai Kishore Hat-Trick: GT Spinner Destroys Uttarakhand [Watch]](/news/r-sai-kishore-ranji-hat-trick) domestic campaign. Insiders confirm Kumar completed six aggressive spells against top-order batsmen, displaying exceptional rhythm with both the new white ball and reversing older deliveries. The tactical review signals a calculated leadership shift under Gambhir, prioritizing veteran control alongside raw velocity ahead of international fixtures against a formidable New Zealand lineup.
