BGMI Air Confirmed: Krafton Renames BGMI Lite [Update 2026]

Krafton India officially confirmed on October 15, 2026, that its upcoming lightweight battle royale title BGMI Lite has been renamed BGMI Air, aiming to deliver uncompromised competitive battle royale gameplay to low-end smartphone users across the subcontinent. According to verified reports from TalkEsport, the strategic rebrand went live across the game's verified Instagram handle with the tagline "Lighter name, same heavy action." Accompanying artwork revealed the modernized application icon featuring the iconic helmeted survivor set against the Indian tricolour motif. Krafton initially announced the lightweight build on August 16, 2026, following extensive grassroots demand for an accessible client tailored for devices with limited RAM. While the developer has not altered device specifications, Google Play pre-registration schedules, or confirmed an exact commercial deployment date, the rebrand marks a vital milestone ahead of regional rollout plans. Competitive analysts note this expansion will synchronize neatly with ongoing community events, such as the [PUBG Mobile Rob Van Dam Collab: [Confirmed Update 2026]](/news/rob-van-dam-pubg-mobile-collab) and major regional circuit trials. TalkEsport highlighted that backend database entries remain unchanged, affirming that BGMI Air will preserve core mechanical parity, anti-cheat architecture, and synchronized progression systems alongside standard mobile builds.
