According to verified reports from Polygon, EA has made Battlefield 6 completely free to play on Steam for a limited-time trial running right now through October 20, 2026, coinciding with the massive launch of Season 5. Season 5 officially went live on October 13, introducing an expansive arsenal featuring six new weapons, two versatile combat vehicles, and the adrenaline-fueled Rapid Royale mode that accelerates battle royale pacing. Additionally, EA teased an upcoming limited-time Halloween event drawing heavy inspiration from the iconic Dead Space franchise, showcasing specialized soldier armor modeled after protagonist Isaac Clarke alongside ominous alien Markers. For participants wishing to retain permanent access after the October 20 trial conclusion, Steam has slashed the Standard Edition price by 60%, dropping it down from $69.99 to $27.99. This promotional window provides an optimal entry point for both veteran combatants and newcomers to test server stability and weapon handling before committing financially.
