Ballon d'Or 2026: Lizarazu Snubs Mbappe for Yamal [Confirmed]

Barcelona prodigy Lamine Yamal should win the 2026 Ballon d'Or over Real Madrid forward Kylian Mbappe, according to 1998 France World Cup winner Bixente Lizarazu during an interview broadcast on French sports television programme Telefoot. According to verified reports from Sportskeeda Esports & BGMI, Lizarazu emphasized that Yamal has raised his competitive level far beyond normal youth thresholds, checking every single metric required to claim football's highest individual honor ahead of this month's gala. Lizarazu noted that while Paris Saint-Germain stars like Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Ousmane Dembele remain impactful figures across European football, Yamal's meteoric ceiling at Barcelona sets him apart as an undisputed generational pacesetter. Mbappe's high-profile transfer to the Santiago Bernabeu brought massive expectations, but the young Spaniard's decisive international tournament pedigree and relentless attacking presence have swayed veteran analysts worldwide. Similar to how young talents like [Arda Guler Real Madrid Sevilla Match Analysis [Confirmed]](/news/arda-guler-real-madrid-sevilla-praise) drive high debate across elite Spanish football circles, Yamal's consistency under intense top-flight pressure makes him the standout frontrunner across European football editorial boards heading into the winter calendar.
