Avengers Endgame Beats Avatar At Box Office Record [Confirmed]

Marvel Studios' blockbuster Avengers: Endgame has officially reclaimed the title of highest-grossing film of all time from James Cameron's Avatar following the global theatrical release of Avengers: Endgame Encore, prompting Cameron to post a celebratory graphic honoring Marvel on Instagram. According to verified reports from IGN Articles, filmmaker James Cameron praised Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige and directors Anthony and Joe Russo with custom promotional artwork depicting Iron Man surrounded by Pandora's native Na'vi. The artwork, captioned with the signature Avatar sentiment 'You are one of the people' and Cameron's note thanking Marvel for bringing moviegoers to cinemas worldwide, cements a friendly, decade-long box office tug-of-war. Marvel originally surpassed Avatar's record during its initial 2019 summer theatrical run, but subsequent worldwide re-releases in international markets allowed Avatar to reclaim the summit with over $2.92 billion. With the Encore edition generating robust ticket sales, Marvel pushed its cumulative worldwide gross back into first position. This cinematic milestone arrives amidst deepening convergence between major film IP and competitive gaming ecosystems, highlighted by collaborative ventures like the [Disney Epic Games AI Shooter: Marvel & Star Wars IP [Leak]](/news/disney-epic-games-ai-shooter-leak).
