Avengers: Doomsday Loki Theory: Is Steve Rogers Replaced? [Confirmed]

According to verified reports from GamesRadar published in 2026, newly released Marvel Studios footage for Avengers: Doomsday has sparked viral fan theories suggesting the God of Stories, Loki, has secretly impersonated and replaced Steve Rogers. This jaw-dropping speculation arose after a brief TV spot highlighted two subtle yet compelling narrative clues. First, Scott Lang refers to Steve as Cap, prompting a direct turn despite the mantle passing to Sam Wilson—an oversight a true Steve Rogers would likely correct. Second, Steve flashes Thor a distinct, mischievous fraternal grin reminiscent of Loki's signature expression from Thor: The Dark World, where the God of Mischief famously transformed into Captain America. While skeptics dismiss these Easter eggs as classic Marvel misdirection reminiscent of past Mephisto frenzies, dedicated theorists insist the multiverse mechanics of Doomsday leave wide open doors for deceptive identity swaps. As anticipation reaches fever pitch across global gaming and cinematic communities, industry analysts are closely monitoring how Marvel balances these complex narrative threads ahead of its major theatrical rollout. Fans eager to discuss these theories can also explore broader industry shifts, such as how major franchises parallel developments in titles like Cyberpunk 2 Quest Team: Modders Lead Sequel [Confirmed].
