Arc Browser Shutting Down: End Date Confirmed [Update 2026]

The Browser Company will permanently shut down its flagship Arc browser on December 22, 2026, terminating desktop support on Windows and macOS while disabling AI search capabilities on November 23, according to verified reports from Android Authority. Following months in maintenance mode where the application received only routine security patches, new user registrations have ceased across all platforms. The development studio has redirected all engineering bandwidth toward Dia, a standalone AI-first web navigator designed to replace traditional browsing habits entirely. Users on Windows and macOS retain full data export tools to salvage bookmarks, custom spaces, and pin folders before the client becomes completely inoperable in late December. Arc Search on mobile platforms will forfeit cloud synchronization and AI summary tools by November 23, forcing millions of power users to find sustainable alternatives. As digital workflow security shifts alongside new AI tooling, automated enterprise security integrations—much like [1Password for Agents: AI Password Security [Confirmed]](/news/1password-for-agents-ai-security)—are becoming vital for competitive gaming analysts and production teams currently rebuilding their workspace stacks ahead of the hard platform sunset date.
