Auqib Nabi India Test Snub: Mukund Slams NZ Squad [Confirmed]

Jammu and Kashmir frontline fast bowler Auqib Nabi was controversially excluded from India's two-match Test squad against New Zealand scheduled for early 2026, prompting former national batter Abhinav Mukund to express profound disappointment over the selectors' baffling domestic talent snub. According to verified reports from Sportskeeda Esports & BGMI, Mukund voiced his displeasure during post-squad analysis, emphasizing that Nabi deserved a maiden call-up after delivering record-breaking performances in the Ranji Trophy. The 29-year-old pacer has dismantled top-order batting lineups on docile subcontinent tracks, producing deceptive late movement and high-intensity spells that would naturally translate to New Zealand's seam-friendly conditions. Despite India rotating veteran fast bowlers to manage workloads ahead of ICC World Test Championship obligations, selectors opted for established fringe reserves over Nabi's red-hot form. Fans and cricket analysts echoed Mukund's critique across social platforms, referencing our earlier breakdown on [Aaqib Nabi India Test Omission: [Confirmed 2026 Analysis]](/news/aaqib-nabi-india-test-omission-2026) where regional selection bias was scrutinized. Mukund highlighted that repeated oversights of exceptional domestic pacers risk discouraging grassroots red-ball talent across under-represented states. The exclusion underscores an ongoing tension between immediate tournament conservatism and rewarding raw domestic dominance in international selections.
