007 First Light Switch 2 Release Date Locked [Confirmed]

IO Interactive has officially confirmed that 007 First Light will release globally on Nintendo Switch 2 on March 18, 2027, bringing the acclaimed James Bond origin story to portable hardware following its initial PC and next-gen console debut in May 2026. According to verified reports from Polygon, the extended development timeline allowed IO Interactive to refine the Glacier engine specifically for Nintendo's next-generation architecture. To compensate handheld players for the lengthy delay, the studio announced a GoldenEye-themed bonus pack featuring classic weapon wraps, tuxedo variants, and retro MI6 audio cues. This high-profile port follows industry release shifts reminiscent of how the [GTA 6 Launch Was Originally Planned Much Earlier [Confirmed]](/news/gta-6-original-release-window-revealed), proving that premier studios increasingly prioritize platform stability over hurried launch windows. The Switch 2 edition will feature full parity with earlier editions, including the entire stealth-action campaign, tactical espionage challenges, and post-launch espionage contracts. IO Interactive confirmed the physical release will house the complete campaign on a high-capacity cartridge alongside pre-order delivery bonuses. Pre-orders open across digital and retail channels starting next month.
