What Is A Scoundrel in the New World?

A Scoundrel in the New World is a graphic novel by writer Alain Ayroles and artist Juanjo Guarnido, the artist behind Blacksad. It follows a charming conman through the Spanish Empire era as he hunts for the legendary treasure of El Dorado. The story is inspired by a classic satirical novel about a swindler, and it is told by an unreliable narrator recounting his life to his captors. It is a printed book, not a video game, and it has no quest, no mission, and no playable version.

The main character is Don Pablos of Segovia, a low-born rogue who leaves Spain behind to seek his fortune in the New World. He survives by shifting identities, passing himself off as a beggar one day and a nobleman the next, while chasing the myth of El Dorado through the Andes and the Amazon. The story is framed as Pablos in prison, telling his tale to colonial authorities who want the treasure for themselves. His charm is the point of the book, and so is the fact that he cannot be trusted.

The title sounds like a quest name, which is why players searching for a game mission land on it. It is not a quest in any game, and no game uses this title for a mission or a storyline. If you came here looking for a walkthrough, the honest answer is that there is nothing to walk through, because the story exists only on the page. That confusion is common with book titles that sound like game content, and the safest habit is to check whether the title belongs to a book, a film, or a game before downloading anything.

Because the title sounds like a game, scammers use it to dress up fake downloads and file links that promise a playable version. There is no official game version, so any site offering one is not selling a game, it is luring a click or a download. Never install a file that claims to be this title as a game, and never enter a login on a site that offers it. Our scam-spotting guide covers the same warning signs, and our scam prevention checklist shows how to check any download offer before you trust it.
