Headshot Config File Warning

Sellers claim a headshot config file makes every bullet hit the head, raises headshot rates automatically, or unlocks an aim-lock that only targets heads. Videos show impossible headshot streaks as proof, often on fresh accounts with no match history. The claim is designed to appeal to players who lose duels and want one purchase to fix it. It is also the oldest cheat promise in the game, recycled under a new name every season.

Hit registration is decided server-side from the shot data the client sends: a settings file cannot rewrite where your bullets go without becoming an aimbot, and an aimbot is client modification that detection catches. A file that only changes settings cannot move your crosshair to a head you are not aiming at. So every headshot file on the market is one of two things: an aimbot bundled with a settings file, or a plain settings file sold with a lie. The first gets you banned; the second just takes your money.

Headshot files carry the same punishment as other cheats: temporary, 10-year or device bans, because they are either aimbots or modified clients. They also carry a second risk that pure settings files do not: downloads from chat groups and video descriptions are a classic malware and login-theft route, and a player who installs a headshot file has already trusted the exact source most likely to bundle a stealer with it. Losing the account to a ban is bad; losing it to a stolen login is worse, because the thief can spend and sell before you recover it.

Real headshot rates come from crosshair placement at head height, so your first bullet is already near the head before you fire. Practise holding your crosshair at head height while moving, pre-aiming common angles, and firing in short controlled bursts instead of panicked sprays. Tune red dot ADS until close tracking feels steady, and review your own deaths to see whether you lost to aim, positioning or a bad peek. If you want an account with rare gear to practise on, ready accounts are available through escrow on the PUBG accounts page (/en/pubg-accounts).
