How to Fix Castlevania Fast Travel

Fast travel in Belmonts Curse only becomes available once you have reached the right point in the game and unlocked the travel option, so a missing option early on is often normal progress rather than a fault. Check whether you have actually unlocked the feature by opening the map screen and looking for a travel prompt or a marked destination. If nothing is marked, keep playing the main path until the game introduces the feature, and save your progress before testing it again. Our guide on moving accounts safely between games uses the same check-first habit that helps here.

Open the world map and confirm your current position, because fast travel usually only works from certain spots and to places you have already visited. If you are standing inside a boss arena, a cutscene area, or a locked story section, the game may block travel until you leave that area. Walk to an open area or a previously visited landmark, then open the map again and try selecting a destination. If the destination is greyed out, you have likely not visited it yet, and travelling there on foot is the intended route.

Some story moments lock travel until a quest step is finished, so check your current objective before assuming the feature is broken. Read the quest description carefully and finish any step that asks you to talk to a character, pick up an item, or defeat a nearby enemy. Once the objective updates, try the map again, since the travel lock often lifts the moment the story gate clears. If the objective is unclear, retrace your steps to the last place where the story advanced and look for an unmarked interaction point.

If travel still fails after the checks above, save your game, close it fully, and start it again, because a fresh load clears temporary glitches that can freeze menu options. Load your most recent save rather than an older one, and test travel from a safe open area before continuing the story. If the problem returns on the same save, try an earlier save to see whether the fault is tied to one save file. As a last step, confirm your game is updated, since an update can fix a travel fault that a restart cannot.
