Call of Duty Unlink Method

Unlinking removes the connection between your Activision account and a platform account such as PlayStation, Xbox, Steam or Battle.net. Your Activision account and its progress stay where they are; only the link to that platform is removed. That matters when you switch platforms, clean up an old login, or fix a wrong account that was linked by mistake. Unlinking is not the same as deleting an account, so treat the two as separate actions.

Unlinking is done from your Activision account settings, in the linked accounts section. Sign in on the official Activision site, open your profile settings, and find the list of linked platform accounts. Each linked account has an unlink option beside it. Work slowly here and read each entry before you touch it, since platform names and usernames can look similar when several accounts are linked.

Once unlinked, that platform account can no longer sign you in to your Activision account, and any cross-progression tied to that link stops applying to it. Your game progress stays on your Activision account, not on the platform you unlinked. Before you confirm, check the unlink page for any waiting period or warning it shows, since the rules shown there are the ones that apply to your account. If the page warns you about losing access to something, stop and read it fully before you continue.

First, confirm which platform account is actually linked, by checking the username shown in the settings. Second, make sure you have another way to sign in, such as your email login, so you are not locked out. Third, check that no purchase or subscription is tied to the link you are about to remove. Finally, after unlinking, sign in again through your remaining method to confirm everything still works. Keep your gaming accounts protected with two-factor authentication, as explained in the gaming account 2FA guide, and if you trade accounts, read the account valuation and security guide.
